Team Pratten play hot golf in the cold The Bunkers may have been like swimming pools and the Fairways like baths but this didn’t stop 40 Tigers, Parents, one pro and one spectator (Amelia’s Mum) from battling the elements last Sunday. Head Professional Ian Parker commented “In the past nine years as Professional at Mill Green Golf Club I can honestly say this is wettest of them all. The golfing Gods obviously decided to have a change of pattern and I would like to take this opportunity to ask them to never do it again.” Alex and Mark Pratten obviously loved the conditions and have since purchased themselves a portable shower unit after shooting four birdies on the way to a winning net round of 22.2. Alex Pratten commented afterwards “To come first in a parent and child competition is a dream come true for my dad and me.” New Tiger member Jay Griffin who has only been playing for a month and his Dad Terry who had never played before (apart form the wii) obviously make a great team with an amazing debut score of net 24 to pick up second. William and Julian Payne run a close third with a net score of 24.6 and Jarvis and Seamus Hinds picked up third with net 25.6. Nearest the pins went to Richard Vertigan, Bob Boggart and Julian Payne. A special thanks to Jo, Margaret and Pat for making Tea and Cakes that helped warm us all up when we finished.
