The Tigers operate their own special handicap system for competition
play on the Romany 9 course.
New Tiger handicaps are initially assigned after their first medal
competition after which they are placed into divisions according to the
handicap ranges on the right.
Handicaps are then subsequently amended according to their performance
in future monthly medals, other qualifying competitions and occasionally
by the Pro during general play.
 Handicaps are calculated as follows:
- Max handicap = 36
- Cut 1 shot for each Nett score less than 25
- (ie: a 2 shot
buffer zone)
- Cut 1 additional shot for winning your division or a
competition
- General play adjustments may also be made by the Head
Professional as deemed necessary from time to time
- Tiger handicaps will not move back up once cut
- Examples:
- 1st in Div 2 shooting a nett 23 >> cut by 3
- 2nd in Div 4 shooting a nett 25 >> no change
- 4th in Div 1 shooting a nett 24 >> cut by 1
For all monthly medals and most Tiger competitions, Tigers will only be
competing against others in their own Division but on occasion
competitions will be in age groups regardless of handicap.
Flag Competitions:
Note that both YMG and Wee Wonder competitions use a "flag" format and
rather than dealing with handicaps, all juniors compete in sex / age
ranges only. For this reason, some Tiger competitions also use this
format.
