Some Etiquette points are further illustrated by following the links shown.

Please ...

1 - TROLLEYS / BAGS
Please keep your trolleys and your golf bags away from the greens and tees

2 - PITCH MARKS
Repair all pitch marks on the greens. Every shot will leave a pitch mark of some description so ensure you carry a pitch mark repairer with you

3 - BUNKERS
Please rake the bunkers after you have played from them.  No one likes to find their ball at the bottom of someone's footprints in the sand and more difficult to play than should be necessary

4 - SWINGING YOUR CLUBS
Golfers - Always ensure you have plenty of space before attempting to swing your club. A serious injury could result if you hit someone.

Playing Partners - Be careful where you stand as you do not want to get hit on the backswing!

Ensure that all players in the group ahead are out of range before you play. If necessary, ensure you shout 'FORE' to warn anyone of a wayward shot.

5 - LINE OF PUTT
If you stand on the line of someone's putt, you will make an 'impression' in the green which may throw the other player's putt off line. Always walk around or step over the line of putt when marking your ball.

6- SHADOWS
Watch where you shadows are when someone is trying to putt or play their shot. When you move your shadow does and it can be distracting.

7 - FLAG
Ensure you put the flag back in the hole when you leave the green.

8 - SLOW PLAY
Keep up with the group in front as best as possible. Remember the Tiger rules are there to help you keep up with the pace of play.

8 - COURTESY TO OTHERS

  • Do not RUN on the golf course
  • Ensure you are quiet while others are playing their shots so that they can concentrate
  • Always be courteous to your fellow players during the round and at the end of your round take off your hat and shake hands

Most of this is common sense but by following the above you will ensure that everyone on the course enjoys their golf and you will earn the respect of all who watch you play.

Thanks !
