Tiger International in Pepsi's Little People Championship ... June 2007 |
|
FROM JOSHUA
TAYLOR The
Pepsi Little People’s Championship, USA I started playing golf when I was four and have entered lots of competitions nationally. On June 18th and 19th 2007 I played my first international competition in Quincy, Illinois, USA (about 230 miles south of Chicago). The competition was called The Pepsi Little Peoples Golf Championships. There were about 900 entrants across the age ranges 3 – 19. There were 62 boys in my age group (under 10 years). There were entrants from 13 different countries, including South Africa and Mexico. I had to play two rounds of 9-holes on a main course off the red tees. The course was 2,500 yards long. The sloping greens were incredibly fast and many were on 2 or 3 levels. I played quite well and came 26th overall. As well as golf we did lots of other fun things in America. I had a great time and enjoyed the experience of playing in an international competition and I learnt a lot.
