Boys Captain wins 5.0 - 4.0

It was a sunny albeit brisk morning out at Lamerwood Golf Club again this year as the Boy Captain's team was able to peg one back in the Captain's Away Day Shootout cup by edging out the Girl Captain's team 5.0 to 4.0. This brings the three year running total back to 2 & 1 for the Girls. And so the pink ribbon came off the trophy and the blue one put on as the trophy is put back in the cabinet until next year!

The Captains had chosen their teams from those entered to play by taking alternate picks and then submitting their pairing orders to the match organizer. The teams were well matched in the end with most matches very close.

Lamerwood's Pinewood Academy course is a tricky buy fun 9 hole par 27 which runs through the trees for the first 5 holes after which it then opens up for the closing 4. The ground was still fairly damp given the recent rain and the scoring was indicative of the conditions.

Nearest the pin prizes were available for both the boys and the girls on separate holes with Tom Jeffries winning for the boys and birthday girl Sian Hulse for the girls.

To finish, it was hot chocolate and lunch in the Sashimi restaurant followed by the prize giving. Thanks to the parents of the two Captains for the donation of the prizes.

Thanks to the usual marshalling & spectator crowd. It has been great to see you turn up ready and willing week in / week out and it has always been much appreciated.

This was the last match for us as organizers with Teresa now fully taking over for 2009. It has been great fun and we take away many great memories. We wish her luck and hope she enjoys it as much as we have.
