Mill Green Vs Aldwickbury
Home Match Report
Sunday 12th October 2008
Won 3.0 - 2.0

Mill Green hosted the return match with Aldwickbury on what was a lovely sunny afternoon out on the par 3 Romany.  The format for this match was greensomes match play instead of the normal better ball match play as Mill Green had put out quite a new and inexperienced side compared to Aldwickbury.  In any event, the result did the Tigers proud as they edged out Aldwickbury 3-2 in what proved to be very competitive play out there.

Millie Pratten won the nearest the pin prize for the Tigers but it wasn't enough as her and her partner Charlie Ellam missed out on their match result so the Tigers went behind after match #1.

Despite some stunning shots by Alex Barrett and Joe Freeman of the Tigers, match #2 also slipped away to Aldwickbury so the Tigers were now down by 2.  Match veteran Olivia Dyson caddied for Joe who was making his first appearance for the Tigers which was great to see.

In match #3, new Tiger Millie Thorne and her partner showed they are a force to be reckoned with as they got one back for the Tigers winning their match 5&4.

In match #4, Tigers Tollef Ellam and Vinnie Joiner were 2 down with 3 to play but in true Tiger style, kept their cool and did not give up.  They bounced back and took the next 3 to complete a fantastic comeback win bringing the Tigers back to all square overall.

All eyes were then on Daniel Jackson who was playing the final match as a single.  In the end it came down to the last hole but Daniel pulled it out of the bag to secure the win and the overall match victory for the Tigers.  A great finish on a great afternoon of golf.

Following the chips & squash afterwards, match Captain Alex Barratt made the speech on behalf of the Tigers thanking the opponents and the helpers.  Of course, it then ended with chocolate so all went away happy.
