Tigers Vs Redbourn
Away Match Report
Tuesday 8th May 2007
Won 7.0 - 2.0

The first of this year's challenge cup matches saw the Tigers
retaining the trophy by a margin of 7.0 to 2.0 with a few Tigers
getting their first match experience out there tonight. As always,
Redbourn were gracious hosts and made us feel welcome at their club.
For many of the Redbourn team it was also their first match
experience and they are looking forward to the big rematch at Mill
Green in a few weeks time.
The course was in particular good condition as they were getting it
ready for the Wee Wonders qualifier in a few days time so it was a
good chance for many on both sides to get some practice in.
The rain held off long enough for everyone to get off the course and
tuck into the food before the nearest the pin prizes and results
were announced. Thanks to James for organising his Redbourn team and
to all the parent marshals who took time out to help on the night.

Darryl & Viv
The individual matches played out as follows:
Max and Lewis took on the top pairing in Match 1 and it was Lewis
who came through winning 3&1 as Max struggled to find any form. One
of their opponents Jamie, certainly won the brightest dressed out
there looking good in his bright green trousers!
Match 2 was very close with Tom & Callum just losing out 2&1 in
their contest while in Match 3, Tiger girls Ella & Nicola saw off a
couple of the opposition lads 4&3.
Match 4 included Tiger Boys Captain Jack and his playing partner
Mark also winning 4&3 with Mark's new orange shoes only just pipped
into second place on the brightest dressed contest.
In Match 5 it was Sam and Rosie who luckily was there as reserve for
Matt who failed to show. They came out 3&2 winners for another point
for the Tigers. First time match players Callum and Daniel came
through in style winning their debut match 5&3.
Also playing in his first match was Alex who with his partner Ben
added another 4&3 win to the Tiger tally as also did Tiger Girls
Captain Lauren and her partner Liam.
Finishing up the group was Sian and Sam who unfortunately got stuck
playing a late 'ringer' from Redbourn and ended up on the losing end
of a 3&2 margin.
All in all another good result for the Tigers who also look forward
to the rematch back at Mill Green.
