Tigers Vs Ladies
Home Match Report
Saturday 5th May 2007
Drew 4.5 - 4.5

IT was the turn of the Ladies Section at Mill Green to take on the
Tigers with a couple of Par 3 YMG Ladies joining in as well. For the
Tiger's team, an effort was made to try and select all the Tiger
Girls for the match so the Ladies could get a chance to see the up &
coming your female stars at the Club. A few of the Tiger lads had to
be on hand to complete the team of 18 but by next year I suspect we
will be able to get 18 young female Tigers out!
The afternoon's format was slightly different this time with the
lunch of sandwiches & chips held prior to the match leaving the post
match ceremonies for out on the putting green. The Ladies were given
a taste of the Tiger's warm up routine when they joined in on the
race around the 1st green. The real motive obviously being to tire
out the 'old' so the 'young' had a better chance which may have
helped as the match ended in a very enjoyable draw.

Darryl & Viv
The individual matches played out as follows:
Match 1 had the Girls & Boys Captains Lauren & Jack taking on the
Ladies Captain Adele Price and Tiger match organiser Viv Ofstedahl
who had obvious mixed loyalties on the day. The pairs managed to get
the only draw of all the matches played today with the Tigers
continuing to fight back from being down. Nicola and Rebecca came up
on the short end losing 3&2 despite a good 34 from Nicola beaten
only by 2 by reigning Ladies Club Champion Julie Nezda who shot 32.
Ella and Kathryn also faced tough opposition in Babs Gaskell who
came in with 33 but Ella finished strong parring 4 of the last 5
holes enroute to her 32. With Kathryn halving the other hole they
were able to recover from being 2 down after 4 and win the match 1
up. Tiger's own Pat Ready joined Babs in this pairing. Match 4 saw
Rosie and Liam winning their match 3&2 with both players coming into
play including a birdie from Rosie and chip ins by Liam.
Jarvis also got a birdie as he and Emily we finished with a winning
margin of 4&3 giving the Tigers another valuable point. Match 6
proved tough for the Tigers as despite 2 birdies from Ben, he and
Lucy lost out to a great 29 by Anita as the Ladies came from behind
twice to steal it 2 up.
Match 7 started slow for Tiger girls Sian & Daisy as they went 3
down after 3. A couple of holes were then won but it was still a 4&2
defeat. In match 8, Florrie and William also managed a 4&3 victory
with William coming in with a great 33.
The final match saw another 33 by Max overshadowed by the 29 from
Debbie Barnes as Max and Megan were level after 3 but then dropped
down slowing finishing 3&1 on the wrong end.
Some great performances by both the Ladies and the Tigers and a
fitting draw overall.
Thanks to Viv for organising the match.
