The Tiger Club At Mill Green

Based at Mill Green Golf Club in Welwyn Garden City, the Tiger Club encourages children from a young age to obtain the best possible start to their golfing career by introducing them to the game via the nationally recognized 'YMG' (Young Masters Golf) tuition program.

Mill Green was one of the first Clubs in the country to offer the YMG program which caters for boys and girls aged 4 to 16 and now covers five course levels from Cadets to Masters followed by a series of Masters plus courses.

Once children have reached a standard of at least 'Cadet Level' they will be invited to join the Tiger Club and participate in weekly sessions on the Romany 9 hole course as well as competing in monthly medals, matches and other great competitions.

Many of the Tigers have now progressed to full Junior Membership on the main course at Mill Green and even earned places on the Junior Team. However, until they reach the age of 16, they can and do still enjoy the Tiger experience on a regular basis!

Hope you enjoy our new website.

The Tigers have made Mill Green's Honorary Club President Mr. Leo Smith an 'Honorary Tiger' and he has the following words of congratulations ...

In the summer months on Saturday mornings at Mill Green, a large number of young boys and girls could be seen on the putting green, the driving range, or the Par Three, working with members of the Pro Shop to develop their game.

It was very nice to see, however, one could expect it in the warm summer. Now that winter is with us, it was expected to be somewhat different yet Parents and Grandparents still give their time despite the wind and rain! This is real success. However it doesn't just happen, it requires commitment and unselfishness on the part of the adults.

I would like to congratulate all concerned with the Tiger Club, for their efforts which are reaping genuine success.

Congratulations,
Leo Smith
