YMG Sturgess Classic Results

Sunday saw the first of an annual competition with The YMG Sturgess Classic being held at The Tiger Club at Kingsway. The weather held up with a glorious day of sunshine which matched the play of the Juniors on the Par 3.

The YMG Sturgess Classic utilizes a Flag Competition golf format with each competitor being allocated a number of shots dependent on their age.

The Tigers were given matching shirts and caps for the event and there were prizes for each age category, nearest the pin plus an overall winner. Supporting the event was Kingsway Golf Centres and American Golf who donated some of the prizes. The following shows the winners on the day:

Age Group 4 – 6

Age Group 10 – 12

2nd  Ross Donaldson

Nearest the Pin’s went to Jack Harrison and Conor Masters.

The overall winner of The YMG Sturgess Classic was Josh Austin who reached the 12th hole with his allocated shots. Josh received a Trophy and voucher plus his name will be the first on the Shield to be held at Kingsway Golf Centres.

The day finished with a BBQ and presentation of the prizes.

Golf Pro Mark Sturgess said that the level of play from all competitors was good and he is looking forward to repeating the event in 2009.
